About Course
The Grade 2 course builds on foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, while also introducing fractions, time, money, and data interpretation. Students explore the natural world, cultures, and communities, while developing basic technology skills.
Objectives:
- To develop foundational reading, writing, and language skills.
- To improve comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, word recognition, and sentence structure.
- To introduce key elements of grammar including nouns, verbs, and tenses.
- To understand basic arithmetic concepts e.g. addition, subtraction, and place value.
- To introduce basic concepts of time, money, fractions, measurement and symmetry.
- To introduce basic data interpretation.
- To explore the natural world and its diverse elements.
- To learn about ecosystems and their importance to life on Earth.
- To explore different cultures, traditions.
- To explore the roles of government and citizenship.
- To understand the significance of laws and historical events.
- To introduce students to the basics of computing and technology.
- To develop skills in word processing software and understanding the internet.
- To engage students with educational games and online resources for learning.
